Steve Elis

Steve brings nearly 45 years of experience in the plumbing industry, having worked for a plumbing distributor, a manufacturer, and ultimately as the owner and Principal of Southwest Sales. He founded Southwest Sales in 2000 in North Texas and quickly expanded the agency to serve customers across Texas and, more recently, in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas.

Steve’s deep experience in distributor, plumber, and builder account management has shaped the identity and strengths of Southwest Sales. Since forming the agency, he has been recognized by Delta Faucet Company as Principal of the Year, MVP of the Year, and New Construction Salesman of the Year. Under his leadership, Southwest Sales has also received multiple Agency of the Year awards from several of its largest manufacturing partners.

Throughout his career, Steve has served on numerous manufacturer and distributor advisory councils and is widely known in the industry for innovative sales and compensation strategies, long-running builder sales initiatives, and his commitment to employee ownership. In 2014, he transitioned Southwest Sales into an Employee-Owned Company (ESOP) to create a long-term succession plan that benefits both employees and the manufacturers the agency represents. In 2025, Steve stepped down from his role as CEO and now serves as Founder and Principal of Southwest Sales.
